Senior Architect

General Duties:
Support the development of large-scale automated information systems to include enterprise architectures, cloud-hosted platforms, and business applications. Design system architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to satisfy requirements and provide for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces. Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance. Perform evaluation of system alternatives and assessment of risks and costs.

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years leading large software development efforts
  • 5+ years architecting enterprise application platforms
  • 3+ years supporting programs using Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
  • 3+ years supporting programs using Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase, MongoDB, ElasticSearch
  • Experience with AWS Services such as EMR, Kinesis and DynamoDB
  • Experience with Big Data platforms such as Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR
  • Interfacing with Information Assurance representatives and Cyber Security Engineers
  • Comfortable delivering technical briefings and presentations
Education & Certifications:
  • Master’s Degree (e.g. computer science or engineering discipline) and 10 years of relevant technical experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. computer science or engineering discipline) and 12 years of relevant technical experience
  • Certifications Required: None, but AWS certifications are highly desirable
